Active Studies & Proposals:

	Coney Island Comprehensive Rezoning Plan: The Department of City Planning in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) has developed a comprehensive plan to encourage new development and guide the future growth of Coney Island.
	Gowanus Canal Corridor Study: The Department of City Planning has initiated a study of the Gowanus Canal corridor to establish a comprehensive framework to guide future land use changes. This effort responds to requests from the local community to establish a dialogue on land use issues in the Gowanus Canal area.
	Downtown Brooklyn Pedestrian Study: The Department of City Planning has undertaken a study to formulate recommendations for improving the pedestrian experience in Downtown Brooklyn and the surrounding neighborhoods with clearer, easier, more pedestrian-friendly connections.

Carroll Gardens Narrow Street/Wide Street Zoning Text Amendment: Adopted: 7/23/08
The Department of City Planning is proposing zoning text amendments to define certain streets in Carroll Gardens as narrow streets for zoning purposes. The text amendment would limit the size and configuration of new buildings and enlargements to more closely match the area's prevailing built character.
