Computerized Testing (Walk-in testing held daily)
Important Information: Electronic devices, including cell phones, are not permitted in the testing areas. Check the Notice of Exam to see if calculators are permitted. If you are requesting a fee waiver, you must provide a copy of acceptable documentation. DCAS staff cannot make copies of your documentation. Seating is limited. Once the CTC is filled to capacity, no more candidates will be admitted. You are encouraged to take the test earlier in the month since there is generally more seating available at these times.

How to Apply for Exams

Follow the instructions in the "How to Apply" section of the official Notice of Examination (NOE).

Applying Online

Apply online using our Online Application System (OASys) at www.nyc.gov/examsforjobs. OASys accepts credit card, debit card or bank card payments or a public assistance ID number (see site for details). Online applicants receive a $5 discount.

Applying in Person

Visit one of our two Computerized Testing Center (CTC) locations at 2 Lafayette Street, Manhattan or 210 Joralemon St., Brooklyn. Get directions here

At the CTCs, all payment types and all fee waiver types are accepted. If you want to pay by money order or submit documentation to have the fee waived, you must have your money order or documentation with you when you apply at a CTC.
