|  Proposed Charter Amendments NYC Charter Section 2602(j) requires that the Conflicts of Interest Board periodically recommend to the NYC Council such revisions to Chapter 68 of the Charter, the City’s conflicts of interest (ethics) law, as the Board “may consider appropriate or desirable.” On August 3, 2009, the Board forwarded to the Council Speaker the recommendations it adopted at its June 30, 2009, meeting. Below are the Board’s press release on the recommendations, the cover letter to Speaker Christine C. Quinn, the text of the Board’s proposed revisions, and a chart summarizing the revisions, in addition to the minutes of the June 30, 2009, public meeting, and the preceding public meetings at which proposed amendments were considered, on March 31, 2009, April 29, 2009, and May 27, 2009. Also here are the initial draft of proposed changes to Chapter 68 considered by the Board on March 31, 2009, April 29, 2009, and May 27, 2009, and a revised draft of proposed changes to Chapter 68 considered by the Board on June 30, 2009. The differences between the June 30, 2009, draft and the August 3, 2009, final version are minimal, consisting of the addition of the final sentence in the Commentary to § 2600 and the correction of a misplaced modifier in the text of § 2602(a).
