Model Education: CUNY Catch Program

The CUNY Catch program offers young adults who are being released from Rikers Island the opportunity to complete their GED and enroll in college.

Program Description
Young adults returning to the community after incarceration are at a particularly high risk for becoming disconnected from school and work.  CUNY Catch offers post-incarceration educational services, which include pre-GED, GED, and assistance in enrolling in college.  The program is offered in three CUNY community colleges in New York City: LaGuardia Community College in Queens, Bronx Community College in the Bronx, and Medgar Evers Community College in Brooklyn.

Eligibility: Young adults 19 to 24 years old, who are being discharged from Rikers Island.
