 Summer Streets
Each August, NYC DOT presents "Summer Streets," which temporarily closes Park Avenue and connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park from traffic and enables people to use City streets for recreation. View larger photo |

 US Open
Held annually in August and September, the US Open occurs at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, Queens. Hosting the world's top tennis players, the event draws local, national, and international spectators.

 New Amsterdam Market at South Street Seaport
New Amsterdam Market is a reinvention of the Public Market, once a prevalent institution in the City of New York. The market features butchers, grocers, mongers, and other vendors who source, produce, distribute, and sell foods made with regional ingredients as well as carefully selected imports.  Sing for Hope Pop-up Pianos
