The Mayor's Rodent Task Force was designed to address residential and commercial rodent problems throughout the five boroughs. The task force includes the Departments of Health, Sanitation, and Parks, just to name a few. CAU is an active member of the task force, participating in weekly meetings that are used as a forum to update members on issues and call attention to new issues. CAU receives numerous calls of rodent infestation in residential and commercial areas at which point a member of the staff visits the site to assess the situation. The findings are then taken back to the task force at which time plans and implementation strategies are designed to reduce rodents in each area. While agencies such as the Department of Health resolve the issue, CAU works with constituents discussing options available to them to assist in reducing rodent population. If necessary, CAU coordinates multi-agency site visits by the task force to prepare follow up strategy.
