ACS and its network of social service agencies provide a variety of
neighborhood-based child welfare services to help ensure that children grow up
in safe, nurturing and permanent homes.
Preventive
Services - Such as counseling, parenting skills training, and
substance abuse treatment - are designed to ensure that children remain safe in
the home and to prevent children from entering foster care.
ACS Borough
Offices - are located in each of the five main
boroughs of New York City.
Adoption
Subsidy - An adoption subsidy is a monthly payment mandated by law
to be made for the care, maintenance, and/or medical needs of a child who fits
the definition of handicapped or hard-to-place as defined by State law and
regulations.
Juvenile
Justice Initiative (JJI) - provides intensive, home-based services
to youth involved in the juvenile justice system. The services are designed to
prevent unnecessary stays in institutional placement, and to help youth who have
been placed transition more smoothly back to their home communities.
Direct
Deposit - Learn how to enroll in ACS’ direct deposit program
