Message from the Executive Dir
Welcome to the Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the Judiciary’s website. The Mayor’s Advisory Committee on the Judiciary, which consists of 19 members, recruits, evaluates, and nominates highly qualified candidates for appointment to the Criminal Court, Family Court, and for interim appointments, to the Civil Court of New York City. The Committee is also charged with evaluating incumbent judges for reappointment to these courts.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg is committed to selecting judges based on merit and has created a fair and open process which seeks out the best and the brightest attorneys. The Committee will continue its outreach efforts to ensure a diverse and broad spectrum of candidates whose qualifications and backgrounds will serve New Yorkers well. The Committee welcomes applications from candidates who have the requisite character, temperament, legal knowledge and ability, integrity, and independence, and who have demonstrated a commitment to the fair administration of justice. Interested candidates should download the application and contact the Committee office for further information.

The Committee is accepting applications on a continuing basis for appointments to future vacancies as they arise.
